want to watch me discuss THE ARCTIC FURY right now?

I’ve had a whirlwind week talking about THE ARCTIC FURY, but as the holiday season approaches, I get to take a little break from events! Which, thanks to the magic of technology, doesn’t mean that YOU have to.

Several of my recent interviews and discussions have been posted after the fact, which means you have more than one option to hear me talk about my new novel right. This. Minute. Yay!

So! Choose one or more from the list below, and get clicking:

  • To hear me talk about The Arctic Fury and my love of cooking, beamed directly from my kitchen, here’s my appearance on Heather Gudenkauf’s Side Trips & Sidekicks series: on YouTube

  • To hear me talk extensively about The Arctic Fury with a great moderator and audience questions, hosted by one of my favorite bookstores, here’s my appearance at FoxTale Bookshoppe, on Facebook

  • To hear me discuss historical fiction (including, yes, The Arctic Fury) with Denny S. Bryce, author of the upcoming Wild Women and the Blues, at another of my favorite bookstores, here’s my online appearance at One More Page, on Facebook

And there’s way more to come! Check out my Events page for an upcoming book club discussion on Facebook on December 17, and a whoooooole bunch of virtual conversations, interviews and panels in January, February, and beyond.

Cheers!

ooh, another THE ARCTIC FURY giveaway!

(Quick note, I just spent like an hour updating my Events page, so if you need something to do in January or February, hop over there and pick out your faves! So. Many. Events.)

So! Not only is THE ARCTIC FURY the December selection for the Bookmarked For Book Clubs group on Facebook, they are giving away copies of the book to lucky readers! Here’s the Rafflecopter page to enter the giveaway, and here’s the Facebook page to join the group.

Giveaway deadline is December 8th; book club discussion takes place on December 17th. Mark your calendars for anything and everything.

THE ARCTIC FURY makes Most Anticipated lists at Goodreads!

Even with pandemic restrictions, my launch day for THE ARCTIC FURY was an absolute delight. I got to (safely, outdoors) sign some books at one of my favorite indies, eat a tasty lunch, do a cool virtual event, and top it all off with a delicious nightcap.

Now begins the much longer, but just as fun, work of having a book out there in the world!

Today’s highlight: Goodreads pulled together a list of readers’ Most Anticipated Books of December 2020, and look! There’s THE ARCTIC FURY! So delighted.

More soon, I promise. Always happy to keep the good news coming!

today's the day: THE ARCTIC FURY is out!

*deep breath* YAAAAAAAAY!

Yes, today’s the day, THE ARCTIC FURY is now available at a bookstore near you! Or a bookstore not at all near you that you choose to order from online! (I have some recommendations.)

And, while I suspect I’m going to be doing a whole heck of a lot of posting this week, today I’m just going to post this one link.

Jen Cox asked me so many great questions for the Chicago Review of Books! If you want to know what I think is most meaningful and important about THE ARCTIC FURY, this is the interview you need to read.

More soon! Thank you, readers! Let’s all have a fabulous day.

last two days to pre-order THE ARCTIC FURY!

THE ARCTIC FURY comes out the day after tomorrow — eek! And yes, that means I’m a bundle of nerves, but it also means something that affects you, the readers, much more directly: time to pre-order is running out!

If you pre-order the book, you’ll not only get special treats, but you’ll also be entered to win a grand prize pack. Here’s a picture of said grand prize, full of cozy things to warm you from the inside out and outside in:

me and all my books!

Hi there from the caves of So Much To Do With a Book Coming Out So Soon! My to-do list is seriously out of control. One of the things I’ve been meaning to do and haven’t managed to make time for is updating that Books header at the top of the page.

But until I do — if you want handy links to ALL my books, including The Arctic Fury (and its fabulous pre-order prize pack!), the best place to go is this handy-dandy Sourcebooks page. Many thanks to my publisher for staying on top of this stuff when I can’t!

(It’s also got links to book club guides, about which more soon!)

join me in The Back Room on November 22!

I am super-excited about next week’s event with The Back Room — it’s a format I’ve never done before. So there are four historical fiction authors, and we all start out the event in one big group, as at the type of online author event you’ve probably been to many, many times. But! Then we split out into breakout rooms, each author with a smaller group of attendees, and that way you get a chance for more interaction, more discussion, more everything! Kind of like hanging around after a reading and getting the chance to chat, back in the Before Times.

And this lineup! I mean! Finola Austin! Melanie Benjamin! Kristina McMorris! (And me.)

Sign up here ASAP, before all the spaces are full. They cap registration so the breakout rooms don’t get unruly. We want to see your smiling faces — engagement is the name of the game.
